Have you been to the Blue Mosque located in Istanbul, Turkey? If you haven’t, why not have a visit to The Federal Territory Mosque (Masjid Wilayah) at Jalan Duta. This mosque is known as Mosque in the Garden. It features a concept inspired by the architecture of Malay elements and Othmaniyah Mosque in Turkey. This mosque is famously known as the Jewel of Kuala Lumpur because of its unique domes that are painted in blue-to-green like a turquoise gem. Getting there
Visiting the mosque is completely free of charge (FOC) and both Muslim and non-Muslim visitors are welcomed.
It is important to respect the conservative rules of dress while visiting. Robes are available for those who turn up with unsuitable clothing. Remember to remove shoes too before entering the building. To get here, the road is not well-serviced by public buses and there is no particular pedestrian-friendly, therefore, by car is the most convenient way. If you use Taxi/Grab, do not forget to ask the driver to drop you off at entrance B which is the closest to the tour guide office.
This mosque is also near to the KL Bird Park. If you are driving, it will take around 8 minutes from the park whilst 15 minutes from the Petronas Towers if the traffic is not congested.
Recommended transportation is to use a Grab car, from InnB Park Hotel it will cost you around RM13 per car and the journey will take about 15 minutes. However, it only takes RM5-8 Grab ride fares from the city center. So what are you waiting for?
